Big Bend National park is along the Texas-Mexico Border, divided by the Rio Grande river. It is one of the less visited national parks each year. It has a different kind of beauty, with the high bluffs and dessert landscape. I enjoyed a few day of exploring the area and the beautiful views. I dipped my feet in the hot spring along the river and hiked among the rocks. The Rio was low on water and the park was very dry in most of the water beds around the park, but the beauty was amazing. Next to it sits Big Bend Ranch state park. Highway 170 runs along the Rio Grande and with its rolling hills and canyons make it equally beautiful if not more. Between the two sits the town of Terlingua with its ghost town roots.
